Custom Printed RV Awnings
RV awning size chart
For our printed replacement fabric, measure from the center of one awning arm to the center of the other and round up to the nearest whole foot. Nominal sizes run from 7 to 26 feet; the printed fabric is approximately 9 inches narrower, so a nominal 15-foot awning has about 14 feet 3 inches of printed fabric.

What this size chart measures
The chart describes the width convention used by Custom Printed RV Awnings. The nominal size is the arm-center order size, while the printed width is an approximate fabric dimension after allowing room for hardware. These are related measurements, not interchangeable labels. Selecting a 15-foot nominal size does not mean ordering 15 feet of printed fabric.
Use this table while gathering information, not as a universal cutting drawing. An awning model can have specific roller channels, attachment details and projection requirements. Confirm those details before approving your order. The chart does not establish that every Dometic, Carefree, Solera or other branded system accepts the same replacement specification.
Get a reliable arm-center reading
Find the center of each awning arm, then measure straight from one center to the other. Keep the tape aligned and record the reading in feet and inches. A helper can make it easier to hold the tape without guessing, but only measure from a safe position. Do not disassemble the roller or release spring-loaded parts to obtain a width.
Photograph the points you used and collect the awning model information. If two readings disagree, check whether both were taken from arm centers. End caps, outside bracket edges and the worn fabric itself can give different numbers. Resolve the difference before selecting an order size rather than averaging inconsistent measurements.
Round between-size measurements up
A reading of 14 feet 6 inches becomes a nominal 15-foot order size. An exact 15-foot reading stays 15 feet. Do not round down to save fabric, and do not add an extra foot after you have already rounded up. Keep the original tape reading with your order notes so it can be reviewed.
The approximate 9-inch fabric allowance is already reflected in the table. Do not subtract that allowance from your nominal selection a second time. At the lower end, 7 feet nominal corresponds to approximately 6 feet 3 inches of fabric. At the upper end, 26 feet nominal corresponds to approximately 25 feet 3 inches.
Width is only one part of fit
The table does not list fabric projection, attachment bead dimensions or the position of seams. Those details need to match your actual equipment. A previous replacement or hardware conversion may also mean that the original RV brochure is no longer a reliable guide. Send clear roller, arm and identification-label photos when there is uncertainty.
For a fleet, measure each vehicle separately even when the trailers look identical. Record a vehicle identifier alongside its measurement and model. Orders of three or more matching awnings receive a custom quote, but matching artwork does not make differing hardware dimensions identical. Explain any variation before the master proof and order specification are approved.
Confirm before you authorize printing
Review the nominal size, quantity, spelling and artwork placement on the proof and order. The digital proof confirms the printed layout; it does not replace a hardware fit check. If your measurement is outside the builder range or your awning is not a familiar roll-out type, contact the team rather than forcing the request into the nearest listed size.
We supply replacement fabric, not arms, rollers, motors or installation. Public orders currently start without an upfront deposit; full payment follows proof approval and is required before printing. Customer-approved custom orders are not returnable, so a careful measurement review matters before you commit to a personalized fabric size.
Frequently asked questions
How wide is the fabric for a 15-foot awning?
For our ordering convention, approximately 14 feet 3 inches. The nominal 15-foot size is measured between arm centers; approximately 9 inches is allowed for hardware.
Should I measure the old canopy?
Use arm-center to arm-center for our nominal order size. Old fabric can be stretched or damaged and should not replace the required hardware measurement.
Does this chart guarantee fit?
No. It explains approximate widths for our order sizes. Confirm the exact model, attachments and any projection requirements before approval.
